This is the leather bound edition which has 60 more pages than the normal edition. We have enlarged the pictures for the seious collector to enable him/her to see even more detail. Only 80 will be made and they are selling nicely. Signed and numbered in a slip case. Printed on 180gram high gloss paper. Bound with a hard cover.

Instituted:

With effect from the first day of July, 1975, in terms of a warrant dated 30/06/1975 and signed by N. Diederichs, State President and by Order of the State President-in-Council: P. G. J. Koornhof and published in G.G. 4792 dated 18/07/1975.  
 
Awarded to:
Members irrespective of rank of the South African Defence Forces or of any auxiliary service established for the purposes of the S.A.D.F. or of other armed forces attached to or serving with or rendering service to the S.A.D.F. (Warrant dated 30/06/1975).
 
Post Nominal Letters:
The award of a decoration shall not entitle the recipient to any individual precedence but shall allow him to add the following letters to his name:               
 
In the case of the Honoris Crux Diamond, the letters "HCD". (Rule 9a of G.G. 4792 dated 18/07/1975), provided that only the letters attached to the higher decoration shall be used if a person has received more than one of the said decorations.                        
 
Criteria:
 The Honoris Crux Diamond could be awarded to members who have distinguished themselves by performing death-defying heroic deeds of outstanding valour. (Rule 1a of G.G. 4792 dated 18/07/1975).
 
Description:
The Honoris Crux Diamond consists of two swords in saltire surmounted by a circular Protea wreath all in gold, thereon a green Maltese Cross charged with a roundel tierced horizontally in orange white and blue within a green circular border embellished with eight diamonds. The reverse bears in relief the embellished Coat of Arms of the Republic of South Africa (Rule 2 a of G.G. 4792 dated 18/07/1975).
