A House for Mr Biswas is the novel that is regarded as V.S. Naipaul’s early masterpiece, and one of the great novels of the 20th century. It tells the tragi-comic story of Mohan Biswas and his eternal quest for independence and autonomy against the backdrop of post-colonial Trinidad.
