Up for auction are six wonderful silver or silver plated items:1: he epitome of art deco in every detail - it's shape, its. decoration and function. This solid silver "triangular" dish was assayed in Sheffield in 1934 by William Hutton and Sons. It is also hallmarked with the silver jubilee stamp for King GeorgeV and Queen Mary. It measures 17cm from top of decoration to bottom of dish by 17cm across it's widest side. It weighs and impressive 216 grams and is in very good condition. And the feet are fabulous.

2 Beautifully plain, this elegant art deco sugar bowl will make a statement on any tea table. It measure 12cm in diameter and stands 6cm high and weighs 225 grams. It was assayed in London 1913. The makers mark is rubbed but looks like William Hutton and Sons, a fine silversmith from the period. It is in very good condition, with just one slight bruise (pictured) which is barely noticeable.


3 Made by Mappin and Webb in London in 1906, this solid silver milk jug and sugar bowl is the epitome of arts and crafts style. It is also in very good condition, with a couple of minor little dinks on the milk jug, that do not detract from its beauty or function. The sugar measures 9.5cm handle to handle and 7.5 at the base. it is 4.5cm high. The milk is 6cm spout to handle and 6.5 at base. It is about 6.5cm tall. They weigh collectively 120 grams. Hallmarks are rubbed, but readable.

4 A lovely art deco German 800 silver handled fruit set consisting of six forks (17cm) and sic knives (19cm). The handles are stamped 800 (it looks like part of the decoration just below where they join the blades and were impossible to photograph) the blades and tine are silver plated and the plating is in excellent condition. The blades are marked Solingen. One of two of the knive blades would benefit from being reset, but they are not loose and are perfectly useable. Please view the pictures.



5 Nice heavy set with plating in good condition, comprising: Teapot26cm handle to spout, 15cm tall. Large sugar bowl: 21cm handle to handle, 10cm tall. Milk jug 15 cm handle to spout, 9cm tall. All three pieces are marke d EPBM with three stars in a clover leaf and 3751. Teapot handle is solid, although their is a little bit of play in the lid hinge. Some minor plate peeling inside the sugar bowl (the worst pictures) and milk jug, but this does not detract from their beuty or usefullness. 6 A silver plated fish set in an art deco inspired fiddle and thread pattern for six, all monogrammed for Durban's Royal Hotel. Knives measure 20cm, forks 18. They are stamped on the back Sambonet Arthur Krupp, Italy 180. The plating is in very good condition, they simply need a good clean which I will happily giive them if the new buyer requests.
