Illustrator Alberto Vargas, who created the Vargas girls series, was famous for his beautiful renderings of pin up girls. His work became very popular with the servicemen during World War II. George G. Blaisdell, founder of the Zippo Manufacturing Co., was fascinated with the Vargas series...so much so that he used the Vargas girl for his own advertising. The advertising conveyed the windproof concept and the Zippo girl was named Windy. This lighter was produced as a remembrance of those early years. It comes in a decorative tin and is a very special piece for any collector.
***The perfect gift for any enthusiast/ collector***
