The tale of the Macklin's efforts to piece outthe happenings in the Williams family, when as the new owners of the Williamhouse, their curiosity is first provoked by the house itself, later on by theindications of gossip, hatred, elusion, in the town. Bob and Liz piece togethereach minor detail, each minute part of character, and write finish to a storyof bondage, cruelty, dishonesty, lifting the shadow from the house. Comprehensibleand sustained.

 

-       HardCover. Black buckram covered boards. Condition: Very Good considering its age.

-       Minimalwear to boards. Still in very good condition considering its age. Some of thecorners very lightly bumped and scuffed, minimal wear on edges, spine ends bent,lightly worn and a couple of minute tears.

-       Top oftext block faded red colour. Page 243 a small tear above the bottom rightcorner, 2cm by 1cm.

-       Gilt andfaded red titling and decoration on the spine and on front board.

-       Contentsare clean and bright. Pages much aged and yellow.

-       No DustJacket.
