About the Book
The modernised successor to C. Paul Herfurths classic Tune A Day series, this revised edition (Boston Music Company / Music Sales Group) presents a fresh, accessible, and visually clear introduction to violin playing. Sarah Popes update retains the original series gentle pace and logical progression, while incorporating contemporary teaching insights and much cleaner, more intuitive page layouts.
The book opens with a concise explanation of fundamentals posture, equipment, and an introductory section on reading music followed by graded lessons that introduce technique and musicianship step by step. Each stage is reinforced by short pieces, duets, and progress checks, making it suitable for both individual learners and those working under guidance.
Please note: although the cover mentions an audio CD with demonstrations and backing tracks, this copy does not include the CD.
