A Pair of Repoussé Antique 830S NM Norwegian Silver Napkins ring by Magnus Aase C1920
A stunning pair of antique 830S sterling silver napkin rings made in Norway by Magnus Aase. Magnus Aase was a silversmith based in Bergen and was active from 1876-1953. Based on similar examples it can be deduced that these were made some time in the 1920s. They are decorated with an Art Nouveau Floral Repoussé decoration typical of the period. The names 'Ellen' and 'James' are engraved in each cartouche.
Both napkin rings are fully hallmarked on the inside of the rim at the top of the napkin rings. It proved difficult to take a good photo of this however it is identical to the mark seen above.
Considering their age, these napkin rings are in very good condition with slight wear consistent with age and use. Each napkin ring has a diameter of about 4cm and height just short of 4cm. Together they have a total weight of 42.2g. A rare and very desirable pair of Norwegian Sterling Silver napkin rings by a well known silversmith.
