A rare piece of South African WW2 history. This album follows the journey of Sig R.V Garrick and his brother to East Africa from Durban. The journey stats with the departure from Durban harbour on 10th June 1941 on the Ile De France up to Egypt, Libya and Italy. The album contains over 180 photographs some with significance relating to strategic intelligence photographs. Many of the photographs are noted on the reverse location and names of soldiers. Contains an original hand written Christmas dinner on the eve of 1941 in Libya. Please note the book had been borer drilled at some point. This does not compromise the subject matter of easy photograph. Interesting boot sale find.
