The stations involved in the survey were spread from the Cape of Good Hope to Victoria Falls, and the end product is a detailed picture of the magnetic makeup of the entire region, as well as a glimpse into colonial scientific practice. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in the history of magnetic mapping.
