This German made Solingen SADF ceremonial officers sword is in good condition. The length of the sword is 94cm, in its sheath 98cm. The words on the one side WKC Solingen Germany with the number 4609. On the other side are the words Ex Veritate Vires with the old coat of arms. Ex Unitate Vires (literally "from unity, strength") is a Latin phrase formerly used as the national motto of South Africa. It was originally translated as "Union is Strength" but was later revised in 1961 to mean "Unity is Strength".
