A SANTINI 38cm ITALIAN RECONSTITUTED MARBLE VENUS DE MILO STATUE

OVERVIEW: This vintage Italian sculpture depicts the classical Venus de Milo and was produced in Italy under the direction of Amilcare Santini (A. Santini) in the mid-to-late 20th century. The piece is cast from bonded reconstituted alabaster marble powder mixed with resin, hand-finished to simulate an aged ivory marble appearance.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. The sculptural form and integral pedestal base are intact with no chips, cracks, or structural repairs, displaying light surface patina consistent with age.

MATERIAL ASSESSMENT: This statue is made from bonded reconstituted alabaster marble (crushed alabaster/marble dust combined with a resin binder), typical of mid-20th-century Italian studio productions by A. Santini. The resin-marble mix accounts for the cool temperature, dense heft, and bright acoustic tone ("clink") rather than solid carved stone or hollow plaster.
