This is the smaller or 5oz sized Hybrid Codd (marble-stoppered) bottle. It is called a hybrid because it is a combination of the Hamilton or pointed-ended bottle and the normal marble-stoppered bottle. Personally I have never yet found a really plausible reason for why they combined the two shapes! The bottle is 19.5 cm long and does not have a firm's name embossed on it - as it would have had a paper label. This was cheaper for the mineral water manufacturer as he could simply order as many plain bottles as he needed. It has "Codd's Bottle" embossed just below the waist pinch and the bottle maker - "Wm Barnard / London" embossed near the base. The bottle is slightly cloudy, but in nice condition with a number of bubbles in the glass.
Hyram Codd, incidentally, was the man who patented the marble-stoppered bottle, hence the name on the bottle.
