Hardcover with dust jacket. Binding is good and clean inside. Published in 1965 by Thames and Hudson with 381 pages. Green boards with gilt emblem to front and lettering to spine. 129 Illustrations - 8 in colour. Small stain and mild foxing on inside of front board. D/j (unclipped) is shelf-rubbed and chaffed at the corners. Now covered with a removable plastic film. This is the story of a sacred plant, the Vitis vinifera, the grape wine from its prehistoric origin to present day where it is cultivated across the globe. It is the account of a single plant species through the eighty centuries of its association with man. No shipping overseas.
