The truth about these bangles . Firstly the name Lagarmic is a designer brand . Though the bangle weighs a hefty 33.5 grams , it only contains about a third , real solid gold . The core ( middle ) is bronze . The bangle is not plated or it would say GP . The shell is 9ct gold . 

Scrap dealers will offer you next to nothing because of the process of separating the bronze from the gold which involves soaking the bracelet in nitric acid for up to two weeks . This will eat the bronze and you will be left with between 10 and 15 grams of gold .

I listed this piece in the hope that someone woud recognize the jewellery value , not the scrap value .

The bangle is engraved , " From Don with love 1968 " on the inside and can be polished away .
