This stunning and beautifully made hand carved solid Imbuia ball & claw kist with a 3-way lid has awesome period style cast brass handles and is in amazing condition for its age. The stunning carved detailing includes Proteas on the front panel and scroll detailing on the sides and bottom. The kist has loads of space inside and is a solidly built, heavy kist. The lid is in three sections, and once the centre section is closed, the two side sections can not be opened. There are two storage shelves/ tray inside the lid (one for cutlery and one for smalls or jewellery). The kist measures a decent 115cm long x 59cm wide and is 66cm high. The kist is in awesome condition with minor/ normal age and usage related wear and tear. The latch on the front has broken of the one side, but can be replaced. This style of kist is very uncommon and a superb find. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this awesome hand carved Imbuia kist and to confirm the condition.
