"Quartermater's Comment":-  The medal comes in almost perfect condition without any edge knocks or blemishes around the rims. We have supplied a new length of ribbon.
The papers tell us that the impressed 3157   Cpl.  J. FAIRCHILD,  ROYAL SCOTS was with their First Battalion. His award was confirmed by Lt-Colonel W. Douglas who was commanding the 1st Bn. at Middelburg on the 5th of August 1901.
