Here on auction we have an unknown SADF era "plum" or dark brown (depends on how you view it) colour wool beret dated 1977/8 - in unused good condition no damage and no moth holes.

I am unsure of what or which unit used this colour beret in the SADF? One theory is that its a export beret and the closest I know for a unit using this colour is Portuguese colonial Commando berets but the dates are too late?

ANY IDEAS and or COMMENTS to ID this item correctly are welcomed!!!
