The green boards with red decoration to the front and silver titling to the spine are clean, but lightly edge-worn, with scuffs and bumps in places. It is now protected in cellophane. Contemporary name of previous owner to first end-paper, and a crack to the binding of the last end-paper, showing some netting. The gilt-topped pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. All 23 photographic plates are present, and both fold-out maps are present and intact.
