Description: A very large Art Nouveau hand-blown Jug. Circa 1900-1919. Ref. No. GL/10 Maker: Unknown, likely to be English Date: Art Nouveau period 1900 - 1919 History: A rather large hand-blown water or juice jug , showing typical Art Nouveau decoration . Description: A light, slightly tinted brown-yellow frosted glass jug depicting enamel painted flowers cascading down the front with gilded bows, leaves etc. The jug shows a large, sharp pontil at the base. This is where the jug would have been cut off after forming. Condition: The jug remains in good condition with no chips, cracks evident. Look carefully and you will see typical 'bubbles' in the glass, typical of a hand-brown object. Some slight loss of gilding as to be expected. Dimensions: The jug stands 38.5 cm from base to the top of the handle with the diameter at the base being roughly 15.0 cm.
