This beautifully carved Soap stone figure of a fisherman or it could be a fish market seller on a stand would be perfect on display or in a cabinet as part of a collection. The figurine measures 24cm. There is minimal age related wear and tear on the figurine. Soap Stone is a metamorphic rock quarried in Italy, the USA and Brazil, and can take on different shades ranging from grey through green to black, depending on the quarry. Soap Stone stone-effect porcelain stoneware has a resistant, functional surface, extremely graphic and shaded, and comes in two different finishes, unpolished and honed. This graphic collection is inevitably reminiscent of an idea of nature and stone.
