A beautiful Chinese wooden collector's storage box.
Vintage, perhaps 1940's or older.
A rather masculine box - almost looks like a medieval treasure box - but it could be used as a jewellery box.
The handles and front lock are very nice and typically Chinese.
I think it is perfect for storing and displaying a collection of, for example medals, butterflies or soccer cards ... or your silver cutlery.
I have not oiled or cleaned it with any chemicals - except a damp cloth - as it might affect your collection.
Inner measure of the drawer: 32 x 37cm. Height 7cm.
Size of the box: L 37cm x W 40cm H 30cm
Weight approx 4.5kg ( you are welcome to collect!)
A bit of TLC is needed.
There are a few minor scratches and the front lid does not close flush with the sides.
I have photographed the corner which has separated from the main frame. The nails are a bit out. So please look closely and you are welcome to ask questions.
Otherwise in sound condition.
