This vintage German made meat cleaver measures around 38cm long. This cleaver has a fixed blade handle. The stainless steel blade has some usage related wear.  Made in Germany at a time when that nation was still divided into East and West, this meat cleaver is a rock solid piece of professional grade cutlery that will serve several generations longer if properly maintained.  It was hand-forged in Solingen, Germany and sold in the USA under the Ox-Head brand sometime after 1949 and prior to 1990--most likely in the 1960's, when this style of handle with beech handles was most popular.  It is more than enough cleaver to handle just about any duties the serious chef might need it for.
