This money box was distributed to its clients by the Johannesburg Building Society which was established in 1888.It is quite unusual as has it slots to deposit six and three pence on the one side; on the other a slot to deposit a penny or halfcrown, another slot for a shilling...and one fo six pence.And even an opening to deposit NOTES.Made in England by the Recording Safe Company 83 Ridgemont Gardens, London.(info-on the base).The number for this money box is 1253.Quite an unusual piece!
