This Model 1/98/398 (later version: Electro) was manufactured in Bavaria (Germany), mostly for the British market.
Whilst the same model may feature minor variations, there were two main versions of the same rules. One from 1937 and one from 1961.
This rule dates from 1937, when their cursors were made of aluminium or brass. The 1961 version was made of plastic.
The 1937 rule was “Made in Bavaria” and marked “1/98/398”.
Values of scales in the well stock were read by a small metal tongue. These scales were for efficiency of motors and dynamos and voltage loss.
This rule was set up for units of 10 amp, 10 yds and 10000circular mil.
Efficiency scale is marked “Dynamo” at the left end and “Motor” at the right end.
This rule came to define the lay-out of the Elektro rules of all manufacturers.
