Academy issued this new kit OH-58D Kiowa Warrior "Black Death" which is an exact re-bo. The depicted version is based on the earliest version of the Kiowa Warrior. It is a very nice kit which is accurate for the early version based on the 1985 time frame.
The sprues are molded in light grey plastic with lots of fine rivet detail and recessed panel lines. The instrument panel is very accurate for the early style versions.
The rotor system consists of multiple smaller parts and is very accurate. The kit also features the avionics and weapons boxes on the inside as well as the option to open up the engine bay.

A small flexible piece of gun chute is provided for the .50 caliber option.
