Growing a tree from seed and watching it mature into a bonsai is an experience that every serious enthusiast dreams about and trees that are grown from seed, from their very inception, are a reflection of their owner’s patience. Growing bonsai from seed remains the most cost-effective, simplest and most natural method of propagation. In fact, many species, including Acacia can only be propagated from seed. No seed, having germinated, will grow into bonsai trees without providing special care and applying different techniques. Bonsai trees are not created by genetic modification. If a bonsai seed is planted into the ground and left to grow naturally, a full sized tree will grow, not a bonsai. To grow the seed into a bonsai tree, the roots and branches need to be pruned in various ways. Different methods of pruning, wiring and other techniques can produce many different styles of bonsai. Once the grower has learned about these methods and styles, they can chose the style and species they like or even be creative and combine different methods to create a style of their own. The end result is entirely up to the grower and nature.
