Yarrow Red [Achillea Millefolium Rubrum ] is a cosmopolitan weed originally native to Europe and western Asia. Today it grows in temperate regions worldwide. Yarrows, members of the aster family in the genus achillea, are some of the easiest cut flowers to grow. They bloom from seed the first year and are very vigorous growers. Plants tolerate heat, cold, low soil fertility, and drought.
Yarrow Red [Achillea Millefolium Rubrum ] does not seem to be as aggressive as the white form. Cluster-like flowers similar to white yarrow make this reddish-pink variety a colorful addition when planted with other yarrows or in a mixture. The plant tolerates a wide range of soil and climatic conditions. It's a good idea to separate clumps every four years to keep plants healthy. Red Yarrow, like the gold and yellow species, is a good flower for drying.
The plant is an excellent cut flower.
The plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and birds.
This plant is resistant to deer.
