Description:
Common Yarrow is an invasively spreading and free seeding perennial, most suited to naturalising in areas of long grass. White, sometimes pink tinted flower heads. It is the parent of many hybrid forms.

Cultivation:
Any well drained soil in full sun. Cut back to ground level in autumn.

Propagation:
Surface sow early in spring and again late in year, well-draining soil. Needs light to germinate. Self-sows to point of being invasive; divide into fair-sized clumps early spring.

Design and Other Uses:
Wildflower meadows, attracts butterflies. Commonly used as a medicinal herb for treating a wide range of problems. Traditionally used to staunch bleeding and promote the healing of wounds.

Other Notes:
Wildflower native to Europe including Britain.
