Acorn squash x 6 seeds

Acorn squash (Cucurbita pepo) originated in North and Central America, where it was cultivated by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years. Historically associated with the Arikara nation of the Northern Great Plains, this winter squash was a staple food, later introduced to European settlers.
Key details regarding the origin of acorn squash include:
Ancient Roots: It is believed to have been domesticated as early as 8,000 BCE in Mesoamerica.
Indigenous Cultivation: It was a crucial, storable crop for indigenous communities, forming part of the "Three Sisters" agricultural system (corn, beans, and squash).
Commercial Introduction: Although grown for centuries, it was introduced to the commercial market as the "Des Moines" or "Table Queen" squash in 1913 by the Iowa Seed Company.
Species: It is part of the same species as many summer squashes, including zucchini and yellow crookneck squash.
Nomenclature: The name originates from its distinct, ridged, acorn-like shape.
It remains a popular staple in North America, often referred to as pepper squash or Des Moines squash.
