Is your child ready for a seat belt? Think Again….
Adapt-a-seat is spesifically desinged for children between 15 and 36kg. This is the weight group of children most at risk of serious injury in car accidents, because they have outgrown their baby seats and are now not properly restraint by the vehicles seat belt OR
not using any seat belts at all.
Although seat belts are desinged to protect adults from serious injury or death, the same belt could cause children serious neck and abdominal injuries in an accident, due to incorrect positioning on the body of the child.
If the lap belt rests on your child's tummy, which it's likely to do, the child could suffer stomach, liver, or spleen damage in an accident.
Should the shoulder belt rests against the child's neck rather than the shoulder and chest, it could cause serious head, neck and spinal injuries.
The shoulder belt on the neck will also bother the child and
they are likely to try and move it to locate it behind their back or under the arm offering no protection and could even damage ribs and internal organs.
Adapt-a-seat is desinged to raise a child (±120mm) from the car's seat so that the adult lap and shoulder belts can be properly positioned around the child's hips and shoulders.
Because the child is lifted to the correct height they can look through the windows thus making traveling more enjoyable and reducing travel sickness, leaving the child more relaxed and comfortable and giving you more concentration for the roads.
