The failsafe adpater connects between a servo and the receiver. If signal is lost, it will move the servo to a preset position. These are normally used in gas cars, where a loss in signal can mean a runaway car - which runs loose at high speed until it hits something, usually causing major damage to the car and/or other property. The failsafe keeps that from happening. When signal is lost, it moves the servo to a pre-set position - usually on a gas car setting the throttle to idle and lightly applying the brakes to bring it to a gentle stop. It is adjustable, so you can set the servo position. This one has a universal connector that lets it work with Futaba, Airtronics (Z), JR, Hitec, and many other popular radio systems.

I've recently had first hand experience of how precious this little gadget really is as one of my friends lost the signal for his T-Maxx and crashed right into a concrete slab. The damage was fatal and the truck could not be fixed. If he would have had the failsafe installed, he would still be racing today.
