The semi-deluxe version which the German state presented to newlywed couples during the Third Reich as the foundation for a properly "German" family life. Black quarter-leather over mottled paper boards with gilt spine lettering . Internally a bit age-toned but otherwise a surprisingly clean, fresh copy with no marking or soiling noted. First page inscribed by the mayor of Roltach to the newlyweds. A bit of wear to the head & tail of the spine. Otherwise, however, square & tight, fully sound in the original binding. This edition, despite the number originally printed, is now quite scarce, particularly in such good condition.
