Jentsch is the most respected of all Namibian artists. His original art fetches extremely high prices and is collected by a large group of followers since his death in 1977.
Jentsch was born in 1888 and went out to Namibia from Germany, living the life of an eccentric bachelor and forming a close bond with the exceptional natural beauty of South West Africa. He had a very spiritual approach to painting and applied Taoist philosophy to the stark landscapes of Namibia.
This is one of the limited edition prints hand signed by him just before his death. Only the best examples of his work were chosen by him for this project and his shaky signature is one of the last to be appended by him to any work.
