Our Story :



African Bliss is a small family business started by the Conterio family in 2006, whose passion and goal has been to make totally natural soap which contains no artificial fragrances, preservatives, stabilizers or colourants. The business is run from their farm which is situated in the Kouga Mountains, 8 kms from the town of Joubertina on the famous Route 62.
After picking up yet another bar of soap which claimed to be ‘‘natural’’ but, after reading the ingredients, discovered it was anything but natural, they decided to make their own! After lots of research (true soap makers are a secretive bunch!) and quite a few disasters, they finally produced a range of soaps to be proud of. They sourced ingredients from all over South Africa, trying to find exactly the right blend to make this a totally natural and environmentally friendly product. All of the soaps are coloured using only plants, herbs and spices. The beeswax & honey is harvested directly from the hives, it is not bleached and remains in its natural form.
Only pure essential oils are used, NO fragrance oils, which results in a soap with a gentle smell and an equally gentle action on the skin. This soap is used by the person who cares about their skin and who cares about the environment.
Each bar of soap is made by hand, right down to the cutting and wrapping, therefore each bar is totally unique.



African Bliss has also produced a Massage/Body Bar which can be used for massage or simply as a body moisturiser. This is a solid bar which, when held against the heat of the skin, starts to melt and can be applied all over. It also leaves the wonderful scent of ‘‘fynbos’’ on your skin.
