The Swartkop Mountain range forms the backdrop to Heia Safari Ranch and Lake Heritage, one of Gauteng’s oldest tourist attractions.

Situated only thirty minutes from either Johannesburg and Pretoria, the Ranch is set in tranquil indigenous African Bushveld.

The giraffe, zebra and springbok that roam the grounds freely add to the unique African experience that Heia Safari Ranch offers.

Heia Safari Ranch offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, which includes fishing,a new mountain bike trail and canoeing on Lake Heritage.

 For the less adventurous, there are indoor games available such as snooker, table tennis or chess.

While visitors enjoy a peaceful walk along the banks of Lake Heritage, they can stop and marvel at the Franz Richter Dam. The largest handmade stone dam in Africa.

Guest accommodation consists of 2 bedroom thatched bungalows.

Each is equipped with a telephone, satellite television and a tea and coffee station.

The en-suite bathroom offers both bath and shower facilities.

Each bungalow has a veranda from which guests can enjoy their sundowners while watching a glorious African sunset.

At the main lodge guests are able to enjoy their meals either on the patio or poolside under thatched umbrellas.  

At the weekends guests are able to sample some of the local foods at a typical African braai [barbecue].

While enjoying afternoon tea around the pool, guests are usually joined by Zebra that use the swimming pool as a watering hole.
