Hanli is an Artist based in South Africa.

A Brief Profile:
Hanli was born in 1970 in the Free State town of Bloemfontein . As a child, she kept herself busy drawing pictures and colouring in. She particularly enjoyed art class at school. In 1988 she won first prize in Die Rapport Reissegers best artist competition at her school. After school she relocated to Cape Town where she decorated the walls of a daycare centre and crèche with scenes from children’s animated television programs. After the birth of her children, she experimented with painting on fabric but her love and passion were now redirected toward her children. At the beginning of 2008 she rediscovered her passion for art.

About her painting:
She works in semi-abstract to abstract style in various media including oil and acrylic on canvas. Some of her favourite subjects are African wild life, sea- and landscapes, animals, birds, wild flowers and buildings. She often paints from photographs but does not simply produce copies but adds her own personal touch. Some of her pieces are purely emotional expressions of colour and warmth. She loves vibrant colours and to make her paintings come alive. She is always open to new techniques and styles that can expand her creative ability.
