A VINTAGE FRAMED ORIGINAL 1960S LANDSCAPE OIL ON BOARD BY KENYAN ARTIST MADIMBA. THIS BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPE PAINTING DEPICTS AN TYPICAL AFRICAN VILLAGE SCENE WITH THATCHED HUTS NEAR A RIVER WITH A SMALL CANOE AND TWO ROWERS IN FOREGROUND.

 

THE ARTIST MADIMBA IS FROM MOMBASSA KENYA AND HIS OR HER ARTWORKS THAT I COULD FIND ONLINE ALL DATE FROM THE 1960S TO 1970S.

 
AT BACK IS WRITTEN IN CHALK LP TAYLOR. THE OTHER ARTWORK BY MADIMBA I SAW ONLINE WAS FROM THE MABEL TAYLOR COLLECTION. Mabel served as a missionary to Mozambique from 1930-1973, and travelled to many places in Africa. SHE PARTICULARLY LIKED THE ARTWORK BY MADIMBA AND HAD A FEW IN HER COLLECTION. I THINK THIS ONE WAS GIVEN TO AN FAMILY MEMBER NAMED LP TAYLOR.


CLASSIC VINTAGE DOUBLE FRAME WITH TRUE WOODEN OUTER FRAME AND WJITE BOARD INNER. WITH HANGING CORD AT BACK.
 
SIZE WITH FRAME:  55CM WIDE 65CM HIGH
SIZE PAINTING: 40CM WIDE 50CM HIGH
CONDITION: PAINTING IN GOOD CONDITION. FRAME HAS A FEW NICKS BUT OVERALL OK.
