The Big Bad Bitterkomix Handbook  Softcover

First Edition

Rare Scarce

Great Collector Find

book looks at the work Bitterkomix has done (mainly the two artists and founders of Bitterkomix, Joe Dog [Anton Kannemeyer] and Konradski [Conrad Botes]) since its inception in 1992, but hardly includes any comics. It focuses on essays (investigating the controversies surrounding Bitterkomix) and other work they did - publications, posters, postcards, commercial work, work for galleries, printmaking and work for the Afrikaans sex magazine 'Loslyf' (it's illustrated with more than 700 images). All the comics are out of print, with the exception of a recent French anthology that includes more than 200 pages of comics. The original comics from the Bitterkomix series are worth quite a bit now (even though a lot of them are in Afrikaans) since they've been included in big collections like the MoMA's art book and print division. The book is certainly value for money as it will shock end stimulate you endlessly - but it's not for conservative readers.
