Despite all the sorrow experienced during the Boer Wars there was a Afrikaner composer, Hendrik Visscher (principle of the Government School in Rustenburg) who wrote (words and music) a 'delightful satire' on the ill-fated Jameson Raid, a memorable cover with the loosely translated title 'Farewell to Dr. Jameson from the People of the South African Republic'.

Larger A4+ format with age related wear, published (ca 1896) by Jacques Dusseau & Co., Amsterdam - Cape Town.  This seller is only aware of another example in the Kruger House Museum's music collection.
