Air Force Base Makhado, formerly known as Air Force Base Louis Trichardt, is a significant military installation of the South African Air Force.

It is located near Louis Trichardt in Limpopo Province, close to the Zimbabwean border. The base is unofficially referred to as "Fighter Town, RSA," and serves as the northernmost and most modern airbase of the South African Air Force

The base was officially opened in 1987, and the motto of the base is "Castrum Borealis," meaning "Fortress of the North".
