This plant should be grown suspended from a high place by a string or wire or even simply placed on top of something. It requires a spot with bright light, misting with water twice a week and a super dilute fertilizer such as an orchid fertilizer misted onto it twice a month . It's slow growing but will branch and form a clump of stems that will produce a vibrant purple flower at a certain age. Airplants  dont grow roots most of the time but they occasionally push out one for anchoring only
