Human & Rousseau, 1998 (eerste uitgawe). Sagteband, 119 bladsye. Baie goeie toestand

Al laggende en pratende. Kaapse vroue in die 17de en 18de eeu.

Text: Afrikaans. Stories of women who, in their own right, coped and managed in the strange far-off land known as Cape of Good Hope. Through the first difficult years in unknown surrounds, slavery, poverty and riches, clothing, illness, religion, art and love. Women such as Eva van Meerhoff; Annatjie Boom who with her husband Hendrik Boom arrived at the Cape with Jan Van Riebeeck. Together they started a dairy herd, poultry and vegetable garden. Sara, the progenitor of the De Klerks; and the delightful Johanna Duminy whose diary shed light on the daily life of the colonists at the Cape.
