Al Stewart's Last Days Of The Century released in 1988 . I love this album , it's great . This one rocks more than most of his material , songs like Antarctica , the title song , Bad Reputation , Josephine Baker , Red Toupee , Fields of France (a WW I) thing , etc ..most of the songs reference historical figures or events , but some are just fun ...this is the best recorded album I own ..the sound quality is amazing ..great bass and still manages to sound very detailed and nuanced . I don't know what genre Al Stewart is , no one else writes about history on every album , I can't think of anyone else that does it consistently ..He's basically in a genre by himself ..it's great stuff.
