Alaia is a modern replica of the ancient Hawaiian original surfboard. It is made from solid wood is about 6’0” tall. The consistent design principle and elegant yet simple shape is one of the most amazing things to ever happen in surfboard construction.
This is also the most environmentally responsible surfboard you can make. It is 100% biodegradable and has no fibreglass or fins. It is beautiful to touch and to look at and notoriously difficult to ride. There are probably only about five or six people in South Africa who can ride one.
Sasfin Adopt a Swimmer Auction
At Sasfin we believe in giving back to the communities in which we operate.
At this years Sasfin Plett Wine and Bubbly Festival we are teaming up with surf legend John McCarthy to assist the Adopt A Swimmer charity.
The organisation teaches underprivileged children in the area how to swim.
All proceeds from the auction will go to Adopt A Swimmer NGO in Plett which helps challenged and underprivileged kids from the area learn how to swim and be water safe.
