The Alcatel OneTouch 2004C is a basic feature phone designed with senior citizens in mind. It is a device suitable for people with low vision, hearing disabilities, reduced manual dexterity and limited comprehension skills

In addition, the handset comes with a very basic menu with large icons that includes a calculator, alarm, phonebook and a LED flashlight. It also has Bluetooth technology to connect to other devices, Radio FM and hands-free features, among others.

Because this model is targeted to senior citizens, Alcatel has included a single emergency button that is located at the back of the device. Upon activating it, the phone sets an alarm off and tries to connect with five preset numbers in succession until someone picks up. It will also send a text message to each call recipient.

Low Vision
Users with low vision, however, will be able to use this device with comfort. It comes with a 3x3 standard numeric keypad with large and bold tactile keys. Users will also be able to configure the screen brightness and select among four types of screen background colours to improve readability.

Hearing
According to Alcatel, this phone has a hearing aid compatibility rating of M3/T4. This means users can use it with their hearing aids or cochlear implants both on the microphone and T-coil modes. The phone also supports text messages. However, Deaf users will not be able to make video calls as this device includes no front-side camera.

Dexterity
This phone is suitable for people with reduced manual dexterity. It comes with a predictive text and speed dialling features, a simple locking and unlocking system, and hands free calling features, among others.

Comprehension
The Alcatel One Touch 2004C is simple enough to handle by people with limited comprehension skills or cognitive disabilities. It has a very basic menu and icons comply with accessibility standards.
