ALEXANDRA HENDRIKOFF "METMORPHOSIS" FIRST EDITION, 2014, HIRMER ART PUBLICATIONS. HARDCOVER, 144 PG, IN FINE UNREAD CONDITION

Taking the natural world as her inspiration, Alexandra Hendrikoff created her "Noetic Handicraft "series, which is made up of stunning free-standing sculptures resembling cocoons and other forms found in nature. Working in yarn, seeds, and wool, among other organic media, Hendrikoff conceives of her sculptures as modeling life, and each is produced with artisanal skill and careful attention to detail. The first book to focus solely on Hendrikoff, "Alexandra Hendrikoff: Metamorphosis "presents "Noetic Handicraft "in eighty full-color photographs with an interview with the artist and a complementary essay that provides insight into her artistic process, including the influence of noesis, a logic according to which insight is based on perception as well as correct thinking. Each of the sculptures in the series is unique, but together they also challenge our technologically oriented and increasingly alienated worldview."
