Alfred Gockel born in 1952 in Lüdinghausen, Westphalia is a German artist. He deals with painting, printing technology and sculptures. In 2006 he designed the official poster for the American Committee for the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
Gockel studied design at the Münster University of Applied Sciences from 1973 to 1977. He then received teaching assignments for printmaking techniques. He became known as an artist in the USA in 1985 when he participated in the Art Expo New York with his own works. In 1999 he opened the graphic arts studio with a screen printing studio and an etching workshop. In 2008 he founded the artist group Quadriga specializing in classic printmaking techniques such as woodcut, lithography and linoleum.
