VINTAGE 1950's LOT OF ALFRED MEAKIN PORCELAIN DINNERWARE ITEMS - TWO DINNER PLATES AND THREE DESSERT PLATES - DUCKS IN FLIGHT PATTERN

DESIGNED AND RELEASED BY ALFRED MEAKIN DIRECTLY AFTER 1945, THIS VINTAGE LOT OF FIVE DINNERWARE ITEMS WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THE EARLY 1950's WITH EACH ITEM PORTRAYING A DUCKS IN FLIGHT PATTERN. THE PATTERN IS SOOTHINGLY COLORFUL PORTRAYING A FLOCK OF MALLARDS IN FLIGHT ACROSS EACH ITEMS SURFACE WITH GENTLE BLUE CLOUDS AND A WETLAND AREA BENEATH

A SIMILAR PATTERN HAS ALSO BEEN UTILIZED BY ROYAL ALBERT AFTER ITS SUCCESS AT ALFRED MEAKIN.

ALFRED MEAKIN Ltd WAS SET UP IN 1875 AND OPERATED FROM THE ROYAL ALBERT, VICTORIA AS WELL AS THE HIGHGATE POTTERIES IN TUNSTALL. ALFRED MEAKIN WAS ALSO THE BROTHER OF JAMES AND GEORGE MEAKIN OF J & G MEAKIN POTTERIES. IN 1976 ALFRED MEAKIN BECAME "MYOTT-MEAKIN" AND THEN BECAME PART OF THE CHURCHILL GROUP

THIS ATTRACTIVE LOT CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING FIVE ITEMS -

1)- THREE (3) DESSERT BOWLS EACH - 3.3cm HEIGHT.....7.3cm DIAMETER OF BASE.....16.8cm DIAMETER OF RIM

3)- TWO (2) DINNER PLATES EACH - 2cm HEIGHT.....13.4cm DIAMETER OF BASE.....23cm DIAMETER OF RIM
