Red cover boards with gold writing to the spine and gold illustration to the front cover, spine has agecoloured, crinkle to cloth front cover bottom left, binding is tight and strong, school prize plate on back of front cover, foxing to front and rear pages, tissue guard at title page browned all 16 colour plates are intact, green grey color to all end pages with a waxy finish, a nice solid copy of the first printing
