Aloe vogtsii commonly known as Vogts's Aloe belongs to the saponaria group of aloes, and its leaves bear prominent H-shaped spots elongated along and connected by lineations. The inflorescences are open panicles with spreading, bicolored buds that open into pendent, bright red-orange flowers usually with paler tips of white or yellow. These attract birds to the garden.
